In the wake of the massive worldwide sales for Crossing the Threshold of Hope, the Pope has written a stirring new letter offering, in his words, a 'message of hope'.
The letter goes to the heart of the most fundamental moral question there is: the value of human life. The Pope gives teaching on the various threats to life including social injustice, the arms trade, abortion, euthanasia and embryo experimentation.
'An inspiring exposition . . . The ideals the Pope puts forward are ones which will always be difficult to realise, but in striving to do so we can be confident of building a better and more human world. What is clear beyond doubt is that
we must make the unconditional respect for human life the foundation of a renewed society.'
