Taize - a name to conjure with! This small French village has become one of the best known of ecumenical centres, and the community which dwells there is unique in the world. Swiss Reformed in origin, the community, sixty strong, is now international and interconfessional, and includes members with very varied gifts and interests. The best-known theologian in the group is Bro. Max Thurian, who has written on a number of subjects, always in the spirit of ecumenical friendship and understanding. A number of these books have been translated into English; the author has won widespread approval, both for his theological insights, and for the spirit in which he writes.
