The Church Community: Leaven and Life-Style attempts to show how the Church can become a community of love and care and concern in a world that desperately needs them. By becoming what its founder, Jesus Christ, and the early Christians determined it should be, says the author, the Church can become that "community of communities,, that brings salvation to the world.
However lofty that sounds, this book is not a plea for an imaginary utopia. The author was prompted to write it because of his concrete experiences of life in a community led by a number of Christians who had begun to re-create in their lives the experience of the early Church. In this book he shares their experiences, their
intuitions, their convictions . . . and their questions as well. He searches the roots of Christian community in scripture, the teaching of the Fathers of the Church, and the message of the Spirit to the churches and the world today.
