It has been taught that God’s grace appears only as an intervention in the world’s history, as something that disrupts the floe of ordinary, secular life. But another view is coming to the forefront. This view assumes that the universe, from the first instant of the its existence, has been saturated with God’s grace and presence. From that very first instant of exploding light, God has been seeking, in love, to impart the divine self into things. The tone of our religious questioning is fast changing. We view the divine as the creative source, the loving heart, the newest deep-down freshness in things, the daybreak within.
