Life Of Abraham Lincoln

With the possible exception of Napoleon, more books have been written about Abraham Lincoln than any other man in history. Inherent in Lincoln was the combination of simplicity and greatness. He is still, today, the example who became president.
Lincoln, born in poverty in a log cabin, raised by a stepmother who loved him, the tall, awkward boy taught himself law, taught himself to orate and though simple in outlook, he was complex in insight. Ugly, ungainly and with a back woods childhood, he was still able to develop a wit, a wisdom and a sense of humor unsurpassed in history. As he often said, “God must have loved the common man – he made so many of us”.
