Pere Congar has taken the words of John Wesley as his title. He sense a universal need, similar to that which Wesley sensed. Today it is a need to know more precisely and intelligibly what are the Christian answers to the universal questions. This book limits itself to questions grouped around the ‘salvation’ which Jesus preached. It deals principally with:

4. What happens after death
5. Evil, Hell, Purgatory, the Resurrection of the Body.
This book represents an attempt by Pere Congar to mediate to the layman, the inquirer, the student, something of the truths which he and other theologians have expounded at greater length elsewhere. It is an intellectual but simple meditation on the Christian doctrine of salvation, and the problems it poses.
