The very questions we ask about our Church today were ably answered by our apostolic Fathers, more than sixteen centuries ago. The doctrines these early Fathers presented can be readily recognized in the Church today. And if it is important to listen, carefully and critically, to what today’s theologians tell us – then it is vastly more important to reflect knowledgeably on what the Fathers of the Church have said to us by their word and example.
