When we began working to resource The Ministry of the Word, we thought it necessary to provide a companion publication to The Word of the Lord to explain some terms and phrases, backup changes with primary sources, and supplement parts with further notes. Hence, this second book, with its glossary of terms, extracts from the General Introduction to the Lectionary, 1981, and suggestions of favourable Sundays for blessing ministers of the word. There are extracts, too, from the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, 2002, sample intentions of prayer to shape local, contemporary intentions, as well as an extensive index with links to The Word of the Lord. All in all, this book seeks to respond to the ‘Why’ in your reading and implementation of The Word of the Lord. Equally, it seeks to expand knowledge and understanding of the Church’s Liturgy; the Church’s primary worship.
