Religious life is re-situating itself within the ecclesial organism. Instead of being "a single or outstanding voice" it is becoming an important voice within the symphonic choir which also includes other equally important voices. It is rediscovering itself as a "charism" within a church 'community of charisms." The role of the religious will always remain the same: to become a humble parable on life and mission within the church, to affirm others before ourselves, to continue the prophetic function of the Precursor: "they must increase while we must decrease" (cf Jn3:30). To be the precursors of the laity’s playing a new and leading role within the People of God is what our time requires of us.
