A SIMPLIFIED VERSION of the Spiritual Canticle of St. John of the Cross, the only one of his works which covers the whole gamut of the spiritual life. This book presents a synopsis of the Second Redaction of the Saint's commentary on the poem. The continuity of thought is retained throughout. The simplification of the text makes for easy reading, and the notes facing each page provide an introduction to Carmelite spirituality, as well as an explanation of the text of the Saint's commentary. It is hoped that this book will interest readers in turning to the full text of St. John of the Cross's work.
