Six Great Scientists: Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Marie Curie, Albert Einstein
Six Great Scientists by J.G. Crowther is a collection of mini-biographies on some of the greatest scientists in human history. The opening chapter is on Copernicus and primarily the development of his heliocentric theory. Much is revealed about his role in government and economics - attributes that I was previously unaware of. Galileo and Newton are introduced next. The synopsis of the birth of classical physics is great. Darwin is next. His voyages and cataloging are detailed as well as the evolution of his evolutionary theory so to speak. Madame Curie is next - her rise from a very modest background to the forefront of scientific advancement and discovery is a very motivating tale. Einstein is last and perhaps the most exciting chapter of all.
