Pastoral problems in the Liturgy are by no means rare occurrences for priests engaged in the parochial ministry. Often-times it seems difficult to bring the day-to-day customs and exigencies of parish life into line with the strict requirements of the rubrics. This book aims at offering practical solutions for just such questions-questions concerning indulgences and non-liturgical devotions as well as those touching on the Church's public worship.
Nowadays a priest often finds himself confronted with the task of building and furnishing a church and in discharging this duty he must deal with innumerable small and not-so-small rubrical problems. The author is Professor in Liturgy at Maynooth, his duties in training students for the pastoral ministry have kept him in close touch with practical problems in the rubrics and ceremonial. During the past fifteen years he has written a great deal on such matters and his opinions have been favourably received in ecclesiastical journals both in England and the United States.
