What Are They Saying About Jesus?
Recent years have seen of renewed interest in Jesus Christ. Theological speculation, which for a time was stalled on historical issues, has freed itself to discover a new Jesus, more securely located in his ministry and in the faith of the early Christian Church.
There of Europe’s best-known theologians – Hans Küng, Walter Kasper, and Edward Schillebeeckx – have produced works that give flesh to these new directions in Christology. Each of them attempts to paint a picture of Jesus that is colored by the human sciences of the 20th century. They are offering believers a new appreciation of Christ – divine presence with a human face.
The present edition of this book has been completely revised and updated by the author. Gerald O'Collins, S.J. is the author of Fundamental Theology and is professor of theology at the Gregorian University in Rome. He is a well-known teacher and lecturer in the United States, Europe, and his native Australia.
