Individuation: A Study Of The Depth Psychology Of Carl Gustav Jung

"Depth" psychology, the science which attempts to penetrate the unconscious depths of man's psyche, received its greatest impetus in the works of the great psychologist, Carl Gustav Jung. The more profound knowledge of man which resulted from Jungian studies has proved fruitful in numerous ways: guidance of the individual soul has become surer and easier; and that plumbing of the depths of the healthy soul that has thus been made possible has furnished a comparative basis from which to aid sick souls more constructively.
In Individuation, Father Josef Goldbrunner provides first, an exposition of Jung's doctrine, and then, a critical discussion of its implications for living the Christian way of life. The author of several other studies on the relationship between psychology and religion, Father Goldbrunner was educated at both the University of Munich and the University of Freiburg. He holds doctor of philosophy degrees in both theology and philosophy. His thesis for the former degree dealt with the, problem of the body and the psyche in St. Augustine.
