The Movement Of World Revolution

This is the second book by Christopher Dawson since his appointment as the first Charles Chauncy Stillman Professor of Roman Catholic Studies at Harvard. Dynamics of World History was, in the main, a survey of the ideological forces at work in the European Past, and its recorders. The Movement of World Revolution applies the author's wide and discriminating historical knowledge to the problems of the present technological transformation and the world-wide scale on which it is happening. There is a brilliant discussion of the Prospect for a new world history, as distinct from the European-centered history which was the Product of Western civilization at the peak of its self-confidence. But Christopher Dawson Points out that just as the West, for all its philistine Parochialism, has from the beginning of it expansion been fertile in devoted students of the East, so the very terms in which the new world society is being formed gives European history a unique relevance to any attempt to understand it.
