For more than twenty years the World Bank has been lending for educational projects in developing countries. Out of that experience comes this book, which brings together the results of research and development both within and outside the Bank, including much material not widely available until now. The authors, George Psacharopoulos and Maureen Woodhall, examine theoretical and practical issues that face policymakers, planners, and administrators in developing countries as they choose among strategies for investment in education.
