Terenure College was founded on 10 January 1860 as a religious Community and school for boys. In 2010, it celebrates the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of its foundations. This book authored by Fergus D’Arcy charts the college’s history, while also giving a flavor of the staff and pupils of the school and the attendant spirit that the community of Carmelites engendered within the hearts of their pupils. The hardships of war-time, financial burdens and the excitements of sporting triumph and theatrical productions are retold through previously unused, original archival sources, diaries and personal testimony.
