Meeting God: Carmelite Reflections And Prayers
A Prayer book drawing on the Carmelite spiritual tradition is being published in the year in which the Carmelite Order celebrates the eight hundredth centenary of the rule which goes back to St. Albert of Jerusalem after 1207. The new volume consists of prayers, reflections, poetry and biography from the Carmelite spiritual heritage,. It draws on two main figures including the two St Teresas, and on more recent Carmelites like the Martyr Bl. Titus Brandsma and Maltese youth Leader and priest, St. George Preca canonised in early summer 2007. The new book contains the Carmelite Rule with a commentary. It has a night prayer in the Carmelite tradition as well as traditional prayers and others drawn from the Carmelite Liturgy. It is abundantly illustrated mostly from Irish Carmelite art. An ideal gift-book to be valued by those who are new to the Carmelite heritage, or who already treasure this school of holiness.
