Is designed to enable the students at the intermediate level to become active, responsive, and resourceful participants of various roles in the debate of pre-arranged topics. It is also designed to enable the students to express their ideas spontaneously in a group discussion and in other activities such as story telling, role-playing, reporting, and public speaking.
In order to conduct various communicative activities previously, the topics/units for this course are selected and presented accordingly. This course book contains ten (10) units, each of which is commonly preceded by an introduction of language functions used, followed by some practices. In Unit 1 and Unit 4, students are to read some ideas on group discussions and debate. Prior to practice, they can talk about the ideas orally in a class discussion. The last unit, Unit 10, contains various communicative tasks functioning as are view of the previous speaking materials in Let's Communicate in English, Book 1. Each unit is preceded by a specific instructional objective.
To achieve the objectives mentioned above, the students' performance is to be observed and evaluated continually (on-going evaluation) throughout the touching and learning process, Per assessment is recommended as well.
