In a world that seems to have abandoned all reference to faith, Consecrated Life is at a loss to explain its meaning and relevance. Hence the book's title Refundar la Vida Religiosa (Refounding Religious Life)-with two main objectives in mind: to recover its "prophetic" vocation as a result of a more profound experience of God and at the same time to seek a more effective presence of Religious Life among the joys, hopes, sorrows and anguish of contemporary society.
The author's deep analysis of the Religious Life, fruit of a long and rich experience, leads him to discover its crises and dark nights, both personal and structural, and then to offer a radical salution: Back to the "following of Christ”! Poverty, chastity and obedience are viewed from this starting point, which adds a new dimension to "freedom", "mission" and "community"-always under the impulse of the Holy Spirit.
