This collection was begun in 2002 as an addition to the website of the Irish Province of the Order of Carmelites (www.carmelites.ie). Since then the reflections have been edited and published in this volume. They are offered as a resource to provide some background information and to provoke some thought on the texts that are provided for each day of the Church's year.
