Discussion of applications has been placed immediately after the presentation of principles and concepts in each chapter.
Increased Coverage of Secondary Education: Many examples of secondary research and instructional situations have been added throughout, as well as through illustrations.
New Content: A three-chapter part on individual Differences covers the import of variations in socioeconomic status, IQ, sex role expectations, cognitive styles, and creativity A chapter is devoted to students with special needs and mainstreaming. Also new are the chapters on physical development, social development, the humanistic approach to motivation, instructional design, and instructional theory.
