Then For man outlines Eckhart's stages of mystical expression, the nature of transformation for him. The author then goes on to focus on Gezucket Eckhart's rudimentary mystical experience, as well as advanced forms. The final portion of the book is dedicated to drawing forth the practical implications for theological investigation.
