Writing with passion and logic, the author contends that present educational systems favor the children of privileged social groups, while the majority of young people who are "Culturally deprived" receive either harsh custodial care or minimal vocational training. Drawing on his wide experience as a teacher, counselor, and administrator, Dr. Schwebel offers a blueprint for a new theory and practice in education which will end class discrimination and raise the learning level of all children in this country dramatically.
