Living Priesthood
In this book, Michael Hollings traces some of the many experiences of his own life and formulates his ideas on what it means to him to be a priest in the modern parish. With a gentle style and a fearless approach to truth, he discusses some of the practical problems of running a presbytery as an open house, as well as the large problems of living as a priest in a church of changing times. Characteristically, he does not shy away from the topical questions of authority, celibacy, ecumenism and the building of the community. At the end he puts foreword some ideas on the future of the church. Living Priesthood is full of hope. It has a breadth of vision which will interest and help priests, religious and lay people, because beneath the practical is the serene conviction of prayer, faith and living priesthood.
