From Image To Likeness: A Jungian Path In The Gospel Journey

From Image to Likeness correlates Carl Jung’s psychological types with Gospel themes and Christian values. It links the categories of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, particularly the functions of sensing, intuiting, thinking, and feeling, with corresponding virtues and forms of prayer. it also studies the patterns of psychological development of the sixteen personality types portrayed by the MBTI, and shows how the common journey toward wholeness/holiness is diversely pursued by different people. Thoreau’s model of solitude, friendship, and society is employed in order to accent the unity of all dimensions of human life. drawing on a dozen retreats/workshop which they have given during the past decade, the three co-authors seek to assist individuals and groups, in the context of Christians community and ministry, to grow in the likeness of Christ.
