Yoga In Ten Lessons
Here is a practical teach-yourself book on Hatha Yoga, the disciplining and harmonizing of the body through exercise, which is especially directed to the Western reader. The author offers here a complete Yoga course he has developed over the years while teaching his own students. The book is entirely practical: each lesson begins with a background of needed theory and is followed with clear instructions for the exercises. In all, fifty-two different exercises are described. Along with the practical directions for each exercise, the author has indicated the therapeutic effects and the attendant dangers, if any. The author demonstrates how, through the physical and psychological exercises of Yoga, one can harness the potentialities of both mind and body, so that physical and mental forces are working in unison. These exercises, M. Dechanet explains, can transform the mental and spiritual powers of those who practice them.
