Questions And Answers: National Security Ideology And Its Present Manifestations In The Philippines
The Ecumenical Forum for Church Response (EFCR) is an alternative formation of Christians and church people. Its members include bishops, pastors, priests, nuns, seminarians, deacons and deaconesses, lay ministers and faith-motivated individuals from different denominations. It goes beyond doctrinal lines in an
attempt to unify Christians and church people as God,s instruments in creating a "new heaven and new earth”.
EFCR's concerns include the political, economic, environmental and socio-cultural - problems and issues of the secular world, problems and issues relevant to human liberation and the construction of a positive society. In trying to achieve its goals, it is guided by the principles of democracy and nationalism. It believes that legitimate political power resides in and springs from the people and that national consciousness is a necessary ingredient of liberation and development.
