God's World In The Making
This book is an introduction to a contemporary way of theological thought. It is a study of the creative aspects of the world. Evolution, man and his origin, the history of salvation, marriage, and the theology of work-all of these important themes are considered by the author in a practical manner which is relevant to modern life. Much of Father Schoonenberg's thought is developed along the lines put forward by Teilhard de Chardin. The world with which the book is concerned is not just the physical universe but the world in which man is involved-as a person. This world is viewed as being still in the making-as participating in a, process of evolution and in the drama of human history. At the same time this world. is God's world, his creation, and the author sees the world as continuously growing towards 'the fullness of Christ’ which will be finally achieved in a ‘new heaven and a new earth.’
