The Revelation Of God

In this collection of talks and articles Congar concentrates on the two central areas of God's revelation - Scripture and the Eucharist. The modern world focuses entirely on man to the exclusion of God; yet man's awareness of God is the only way in which he can become totally human, the only way in which he can understand the deeper meaning of his own existence
and in which he can participate in the underlying purpose and unity of creation. In the first part of this book Congar asks the question, 'What can we find in the Bible?' and then goes on to write: When we read the Scriptures we are no longer alone. We have the unshakable certainty that someone is seeking us, that someone is by our side. We are encouraged and given new strength, as we should be by the presence of a friend. In the second part, on the nature of God as revealed to man, Congar also discusses the contributions made by recent theologians to an understanding of the Bible and of Revelation.
