Karl Rahner for all his insistence on progress in theology, is ultimately and obviously concerned more with the true than with the new. . . And in this book he is largely concerned with the practical consequence of dogma. It ls described as the first of three volumes on pastoral theology; but, far from being that highly specialised guide to parish work and occasional social-medical problems. . . it is more like theology tout court and as it ought to be. . .The first two of these essays are splendid examples of applied theology.
