This is a very thoughtful and useful collection of essays which reflects, among other things, some of our experiences at Notre Dame in establishing programs in the field of peace and justice, and which will be eminently useful to our faculty and administration in the years immediately ahead as we strive to expand and improve those programs. David Johnson has presented us with an invaluable contribution to the f ield. By providing lenses from the various disciplines through which to view proposed courses and syllabi, he makes it possible to infuse all current university curricula with elements of peace and justice education. The collection of essays he offers in Justice and Peace Education: Models for College and University Faculty should be a standard resource for all who seek to introduce peace studies into higher education.
