Prayer: The Integration Of Faith And Life

This is the fruit of a wide experience of group prayer in many different parts of the world, and particularly of the ‘house of prayer’ movement, but the meditations passing into spoken prayer which form its first five chapters are also for the first five chapter are also for those who physically speaking pray alone. These chapter fall into a spontaneous pattern about five central themes, of which the first two occupy almost two thirds of the book: ‘Knowing the name of the Lord and praying in his name’, ‘The presence of God as the basis of prayer’, ‘The presence of God as the basis of prayer’, ‘Prayer and Theology’, ‘The last two chapters’, ‘Shared prayer’ and “Houses of prayer: schools of prayer’, give factual information and suggest occasions for different kinds of shared spontaneous prayer. The whole communicates ‘joy and peace in prayer’, and deepens as well as integrates the constant concerns of Fr Haring’s other books. For ‘prayer is theology and all theology becomes prayer’.
