The title for our reflections is drawn from an anecdote found within these pages. It concerns an Easter-time visitor to Palestine who spent a fretful night waiting for the sunrise service to begin at our Lord’s tomb. “Will the night never end?” he asked hid guide. “Never fear, my friend”, the Christian Arab replied. “The day will come. You cannot hold back the dawn”. The shared reflections cover many topics, many aspects of life, many spiritual truths, many experiences. But one theme pervades them all, a theme of joyous optimism: “Storms and trials darken everyone’s life. But the dawn always comes. It came for Christ and His followers. It has come repeatedly for His Church. And if we but wait patiently and trustfully, it will come for each one of us”.
