The Parables Of Jesus

If competent people were asked to name the book which has made the most outstanding contribution to New Testament studies during the last ten years, a great many would choose The Parables of Jesus by Professor J. Jeremias, first published in Britain in 1954. In it the author, following the insights into the meaning of the parables offered by C. H. Dodd in his Parables of the Kingdom, provided what may be regarded as the definitive book on this subject. It is not likely that there will be any going back on the main tines of the interpretation of the parables put forward here.' (The Expository Times)
That the author has given his readers the benefit of his continued and painstaking research on the parables of Jesus is a course for profound gratitude, and it underscores the desirability of every student of the teaching of Jesus procuring the book.' (Journal of Theological Studies)
