Where Can We Find Her?: Searching For Women's Identity In The New Church / Marie-Eloise Rosenblatt (Edited)

The ten dynamic women who speak out in this volume want to ignite a vigorous conversation in the church among
women and men. WHERE CAN WE FIND HER? grew out of conversations among Roman Catholic women from all over
the United States during the late 1980s. The ten voices reflect a variety of starting points: scripture, ethics, philosophy, education, sociology, history, and spirituality. This book is for all contemporary Christians: women who want to get a handle on issues that touch their spiritual identity and life in the Church; men who want to be active participants in a conversation about the future of the Church; Biblicists interested in feminist scriptural interpretation; and religious educators, who just happen to be on the front lines. Women's issues have come to the fore in the Church, yet the actual status of women remains unchanged. These essays are women's theological voices. The concluding chapter presents a format for using these essays as a basis for study group discussions. They confront us straightforwardly with women's issues that must be dealt with!
