The “Universal Catechism of the Catholic Church" has focused attention on the need for catholics to renew their understanding of the key doctrines of their faith. While we await the forthcoming English-language publication of the "Universal Catechism of the Catholic Church," we welcome the summary Fr. James Tolhurst does in his work, aptly titled “A Concise Catechism for Catholics." In the question and answer form so familiar to many, he presents the essential teachings of the faith in a clear and comprehensible manner. I am therefore pleased to endorse this work which is undoubtedly a valuable contribution to the presentation of the truth in a simple but clear and precise manner. This book will particularly be useful for catechists, parents, teachers, students and anyone interested in knowing what the Church teaches about her faith.
