In late October 1993, A Collection of Readings was published I here in Manila by "Word of Joy Foundation, Inc." This collection consisted of forty readings on the topics: prayer, Spiritual Life, and Personal Growth. This first collection was very popular and soon after its publication Fr. Bill Schock began planning a second book. He already had a number of good readings that he could use for this book and, without much difficulty, he was able to find a number of others. He came to appreciate Review for-Religious as a "goldmine" of very inspiring and interesting articles.
